Our Committees
The following will provide you with information about the committees of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church.
| Leadership Board | - | This is the overall govering body of the church, coming out of the former Administrative Council. It is comprised of twelve members of the church who not only approve budgets and spending, but help to cast a vision to lead the church into the future where God is calling and waiting. They meet the first Wednesday of every month to plan and implement ministries of nurture, outreach, witness, and growth. |
| Nominations & Personnel | - | A committee of nine under the direction of the pastor and lay leader who meet in the fall to pray and consider the gifts and talents of the congregation. |
| Board of Trustees | - | A committee of nine responsible for the physical assets, and the buildings and grounds of the church and parsonage. They meet monthly and review ongoing needs, repairs, and future developments. |
| Staff-Parish Relations | - | A committee of nine responsible for the support and development of pastors and paid staff of the church, functioning much like a personnel and human relations department. This is the committee staff can turn to in confidence, and a committee which can articulate needs and concerns to the congregation. |
| Outreach | - |
A committee that addresses mission and evangelism in the community and beyond. We creatively look at ways to promote church growth and testify to the goodness and saving nature of Christ. Many teams work under this "umbrella" such as media, greeters & visitors, bread minsitry, concerts, festivals, marketing, and publicity. |
| Nurture | - | A committee that addresses discipleship, spiritual formation, small groups, and congregational care. Worship design, banner design, and Christian Education are all part of Nurture. |
| Stewardship | - | A committee that addresses how best to use our gifts of resources whether financial, time, or talents. This committee is now designing projects to support our "mortar and missions." |
